I have found some of these things useful, some which could be useful I can't use due to IT restrictions. Library thing I am experimenting with for RSPB use as well as Blogger.
Delicious has potential use in gathering things together to answer enquiries - what a pity we're not allowed to use the thing on the tool bar.
I am still struggling with the concept of facebook and twitter. Maybe I'll do some more reading about this.

week 4
Well I like Doodle - mainly for non work related things - the only problem is people being very slow to respond so I can't carry on with it. Google calendar seems it could have some uses - it would be good if I could put it on the wordpress site but probably won't be able to. It would be very useful for displaying the training programme but maybe there will be other ways of using it for this. It wasn't possble to put it into this blog. Not that I reaaly want it on here but it would be good to try it out.

Week 3
Well it's ironic but typical of this place that the 2 things which wouuld be really useful are the ones I can't use. Java is banned and can't download anything.

2nd attempt
I am still experimenting with this and making comparisons with word press to see which I might use for an RSPB thing. When I looked at things 3 and 4 I didn't do very much. I have already been using RSS feeds mainly for library purposes for some while. They are a very useful thing but it is difficult to set up a good useful set of feeds for users to have access to feeds from journals because of the difficulty of getting the feeds to load at a usable speed via the Trust's network. I really really really don't like twitter.
I will be continuing to experiment!

First experience
Couldn't complete thing 1 because of the pathetic internet connection. It is very worrying that it won't even let me sign out. So far I seem to be able to do this but no doubt that will stop soon. I am not very comfortable with the idea of blogging although aready using wordpress to blog for the library. What does this look like in another font? Now this is very silly. So far it seems easier to customise the appearance of what I'm typing in this than in word press
